Interactive 3D

Interactive 3D visualisations allow users to explore digital objects and environments in real time, engaging with components, perspectives, and functions that would be difficult to convey through static imagery.

Interactive 3D applications are widely used in medical education, product prototyping, engineering demonstrations, virtual or augmented reality experiences, and immersive training simulations.

These works combine technical precision with spatial interactivity, revealing the structure, movement, and relationships within complex systems while offering an immersive experience.

Retractable Injection Kit (fig.1–3), 2026

Interactive 3D visualisation

Study of internal mechanism and user interaction

Commissioned by Otsuka

3D rendering of a medical injection device with a retractable needle
3D rendering showing the individual components of a medical injection kit

Augmented Reality Applications

Augmented reality 3D applications overlay digital graphics onto the real world, enabling users to explore and interact with content. This application lets users inspect and manipulate 3D anatomical models on screens and tablets, offering an immersive view of structure and spatial relationships.

Anatomy Navigator AR (fig.3–4), 2016

Augmented reality

From the Biological Abstractions collection

Exploration of anatomical structures

Research-driven exploration of biological form

3D interactive model showing a tennis player’s anatomy with clickable points
Interactive application with 3D interface for navigating chapters

Interactive 3D Applications

Interactive 3D applications allow users to navigate animated scenes through chapters, inspecting each segment in 3D and controlling the flow of the animation. This lets users engage with complex content at their own pace, revealing details and relationships within the model that might otherwise be overlooked.

Thrombosis Simulation (fig.5–6), 2016

Interactive desktop app

From the Biological Abstractions collection

Study of sequential clot formation

Created as a navigable visual exploration

Stereo 360 Virtual Reality

Stereo 360 VR experiences, similar to our medical animation projects, create journeys through 3D environments, but with enhanced engagement. This work takes users on a guided exploration through a vein, allowing full 360-degree viewing of the vascular structure and surrounding anatomy.

360 Blood Vessel (fig.7–8), 2016

Immersive 360° VR visualisation

From the Biological Abstractions collection

Exploration of blood flow and vessel topology

Research-driven visual study

3D rendering of red blood cells flowing through a capillary vessel
3D interactive model of a container ship deck showing details and layout

Interactive 3D Animation

Interactive 3D animations allow users to navigate digital environments and engage with content at their own pace. These experiences reveal the depth and structure of complex spaces, similar to how our product rendering projects visualise devices and mechanisms in precise 3D form, inviting users to explore and uncover details from multiple perspectives.

Interactive Navigation (fig.1), 2016
