Pancrease animation video from VFX company Polymime, all available to download royalty free. The pancreas is a gland located in the abdomen that has two main functions: it helps with digestion by producing enzymes that break down food in the small intestine, and it helps regulate blood sugar by releasing hormones such as insulin.
The pancreas has two main types of cells: exocrine cells, which produce digestive enzymes, and endocrine cells, which produce hormones. The hormones produced by the pancreas, including insulin and glucagon, help to regulate blood sugar levels in the body. When blood sugar levels are too high, the pancreas releases insulin, which helps to lower blood sugar levels by prompting cells to take in sugar from the bloodstream. When blood sugar levels are too low, the pancreas releases glucagon, which helps to raise blood sugar levels by prompting the liver to release stored sugar into the bloodstream
Capillaries are the smallest and most numerous of a body's blood vessels that are part of the microcirculation. Their primary function is to exchange materials between the blood and tissue cells. Only 1 cell thick these microvessels connect arterioles and venules, and enable the exchange of water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and many other nutrient and waste chemical substances between blood and surrounding tissues.
